The goal of the BWL Neighborhood Watch program is to keep our neighborhoods safe by working together and in conjunction with local law enforcement to reduce crime in our area. Because many of our members are seasonal, email is our primary means of communication for notifying the membership of issues related to safety and security such as break-ins, thefts, and vandalism around the lake and the immediate area.
The Undersheriff of Montcalm County, Tom Goerge, will notify me of any incidents occurring around the lake or in the vicinity that the Sherriff’s Department is aware. It is also up to each of us to be the extra “eyes and ears” and to report any suspicious activity in your area. As Chairperson I will then pass the information on via a group email to all members who have signed up to receive emails from the Association. If your email address is not registered in the BWLA secured Member Login section of the website (www.bigwhitefishlake.org) you will not receive these email notifications. Please register your email address to receive this important information.
It is very important that you maintain your online information in the Member Only Login database. And last, not everyone has email. If you know of a neighbor who does not have email, please do the neighborly thing and notify them by phone or in person.
